Grandma's Birthday!

When we called Grandma to wish her a Happy Birthday on Saturday morning, we found out she didn't have any plans for a party, so . . . . we threw a few things in the van and headed up to Fergus Falls to celebrate!

Grandma and N baked a birthday cake . . .

And Grandma let the boys help blow out the candles, over and over again!

Then we headed out to a favorite Levang spot - Orwell Dam - for some fishing!

Grandma was in charge of making sure we didn't have to fish N out of the river!
(He's CRAZY about water!)

The fishing was slow until Grandpa hooked a big one - seriously! In the time it took to try to get E over to help Grandpa reel it in, the Northern broke the line and got away. From what we could tell, it was a nice sized fish. E & N now have their first, "The One That Got Away", story!

Rock throwing was also a favorite.

Back at the house, N learned to ride his mom's OLD tricycle.

E finally learned to love swinging! Grandpa had him flying!

And since Grandpa and Grandma don't have a slide, N created one!

It works!

We had a wonderful weekend and loved spending time outside in the beautiful weather! Before I close this post, I just have to share the quote of the weekend.

On Sunday night, we headed out to E's favorite restaurant in Fergus Falls - The Pizza Ranch. N had us all in stitches at the table with his silly antics. He has that contagious kind of giggle that gets everyone going.

On our way home E announced, "Mom, I was going to be naughty, but I was laughing so hard I didn't have time!"

Oh E, we love you - from your rascally personality to your complete honesty! Hopefully, N will keep you laughing so you always stay out of trouble!

What a really great quote!! That'll be one to remind him of when he has his own kids someday...

It looks like the whole day was fun, and how special to celebrate Grandma's birthday like that!
